the great, the beautiful, he’s here on the stage
Pete Roe's last record ‘Our Beloved Bubble’ won critical acclaim from The Guardian, 6Music and Q Magazine. However shortly after release Pete turned his back on a promising career as singer-songwriter to focus on the innovation and engineering of guitar pickups which resulted in the development of Submarine - a company based in Stroud which specialises in equipment for isolating sound from individual guitar strings.
Pete was a longtime stalwart of Brit Award Winner Laura Marling’s band, as well as working with Ben Howard and Willy Mason not to mention producing records for local legends Hot Feet. Once described by NME as the missing link between John Martyn and Leonhard Cohen, Pete Roe has more recently been just missing from the live music scene.
This rare gig from the Stroud based singer-songwriter, who describes his sound as “self-indulgent bedwetting folk music out to replumb the fabric of the cosmos” sees him join forces with some Stroud musical luminary pals helped along with some recent, original technological innovations.
